wmsystray

wmsystray

wmsystray is a program that provides a system tray for your X11 environment. wmsystray can be (and currently works best as) a Window Maker dock app.

wmsystray is maintained by Matthew Reppert. If you want my public key, look here. For my email address, check the development page for the Arch repository name, and strip off everything after the ".uk".

Due to various real-life obligations, I'll have to push the next release of wmsystray back even further, probably until mid-June, but hopefully no later than that. It will have proper support for more than four icons, of course.

Computers (23 Sept 2004)

Back in August, the system drive on my main development system starting spitting out read errors. This is the third or fourth drive in that system t do so during its lifetime, so I don't really trust

Notes (1 Sept 2004)

No, I'm not quite dead yet, and neither is wmsystray, but various things have persisted in sucking for the past few months, so I've found myself with little time or motivation to do serious development, even for a project as light as this.

Fortunately, this is easing up a bit, so I'll probably get around to finally "finishing" some of the things I've intended to put in here reasonably soon. So, consider this news item a placeholder for better things to come in the near future.

wmsystray 0.1.1 - "Moogle Belt" (29 Feb 2004)

Here's wmsystray 0.1.1 final. This should clear up any problems with GTK2 programs docking. Still only supports up to 4 icons, though. (My .debs still suck, but a little less, now.)

wmsystray 0.1.1-pre1 (16 Feb 2004)

I got a few bug reports last night, so here's 0.1.1-pre1. It should fix the "icons don't respond to mouse events" bug, and adds a --nowm option to make wmsystray work in window managers other than Window Maker. Check out the download page for source and an rpm (I'm modernizing my .deb generation, so no .debs until 0.1.1 final).

wmsystray 0.1.0 - "Kupo!" (15 Feb 2004)

I've released version 0.1 of wmsystray. You can get it from the download page.
